My trip through DePaul's School of New Learning has been a great journey with a very unique learning experience. However choosing classes and more importantly instructors was "like a box of chocolates; you never know what you were going to get” to paraphrase Mr. Gump. While there have been resources for Professor reviews in the other DePaul schools, Instructors and professors in SNL are lacking that exposure. I based many of decisions on other student’s feedback and in some cases interviews and conversations I had with instructor prior to the classes. This blog is meant to be a resource to share my experiences and also extend and invitation for you share yours with other students so they can effectively make the right the decisions on how to spend their tuition dollars and more importantly invest their time.
You are invited to comment and post recommendations regarding your experiences to share with others. I warn you in advance that in any case you always treat your subject with respect and try to stay with factual and tangible comments. Remember one’s person experience will not be indicative of another.
If you care to add to the list follow the following format:
  • Instructors’ name,
  • Class title,
  • Qtr. and Yr. taken,
  • Rate from 1 to 5 stars “*” of the total experience (including Instructor access, your ability to learn from them, if the course was challenging and whether it was worth the tuition paid), and
  • Finally I require that you place your name with your comments as anonymous comments with not be posted.
While this may only generate positive feedback, however the absence of an instructor does not indicate anything more than no one with access to this group has the chance to take their class and you should perform additional Due Diligence. Even positive comments may not reflect what your personal experiences in a class will be, but does give you at least a little more information to make the right decision for you.
Let me know what you think!
